Áine Gallagher will perform one of her token, one of a kind, Irish language lessons as part of the Seachtain na Gaeilge 2021 celebrations. Her loosely termed ‘lessons’ provide the perfect opportunity for those with an interest in Irish, but perhaps feel somewhat insecure, to experience the language in a fun and accessible way. She uses her wonderfully deadpan and comedic approach to share her own stories, reminisce about the mistakes she has made and remind everyone that we can leave the fear of embarrassment behind and just try to enjoy it.
Following a performance as part of the Féile na Gaeilge in Canada, the organisers reported:
“Aine Gallagher’s ‘Comedy Irish Lesson’ provided a wonderful celebration of the language and it was a perfect event to promote Irish in a way that was accessible to all levels. Áine uses a beautifully charming comedic approach, where she shares her own stories about learning Irish to encourage others. She reminds us that feeling insecure and making mistakes is normal and she manages to create an atmosphere where people leave feeling more confident about their own level of Irish. On top of that, she is simply very funny.“
Event will be live streamed on the Seachtain na Gaeilge YouTube Channel on March 15th 8pm GMT
